October 6:  Plan on staying healthy this winter!  Stop by the 4-H Building in Kenwood Park on Wednesday, October 6th.  The first drive-thru clinic for Salina County will be held between 11am-2pm.  Please note this is a drive-thru clinic for adults only.  Please wear short sleeves.  Then from 2pm-6pm, children ages 6 months through adults can visit the walk-in clinic inside the 4-H Building.  The fee is $22, receipts are available.  For more information, contact the Salina-Saline County Health Department at 826-6602.


September 11:  The Ellsworth County Medical Center will be hosting a Laboratory Health Fair on September 11, 2010.  The fair will be held at the Holyrood American Legion, 46 N. Main, Holyrood from 7am-10am.  Questions regarding the fair can be addressed to 785-472-3111. 



During September:  The Salina Rescue Mission is looking for your help!  They have needs for large bath towels, paper towels/napkins, laundry detergent/dryer sheets, men's jeans and slacks (all sizes), underwear (size 40+) socks, and dress shoes.  Drop off your donations anytime at the Salina Rescue Mission at 1716 Summers Road in Salina.  Go to www.salinarescuemission.com

September 18:  The Salina NAACP will host their Annual Block Party on Saturday, September 18th!  Stop by between 11 am and 4 pm at Church of the Cross, located at 1600 Rush Street.  Food, prizes, music, games and bingo will keep you and your family having fun all afternoon.  22 cash door prizes totaling $500 will be given away!  Call 827-4888 for more information.



September 19:  The Salina MDA Poker Run hosted by the Salina Harley Owners Group will be Saturday, September 19th by the train in Kenwood Park.  Sign in is 10 am until noon, last bike out at noon, last bike in a 4pm.  It is $10 per hand or 3 for $25.  First prize is 5 nights lodging at the 2011 Sturgis Rally, second prize is 5 nights lodging at the Daytona 2011 Bike Rally, and third prize is a $500 gift card from harley Davidson of Salina.  All bikes are welcome and the rain date is September 26th.  The Salina MDA Poker Run is sponsored by the Salina Harley Owners Group.


Beginning September 13:  Join the Salina First Church of the Nazarene to study Beth Moore's series entitled, "Here and Now...There and Then" based on the book of Revelation.  Beth presents many points of view, allowing women to decide for themselves when the interpretation varies among scholars.  The 11-session lecture series is held at 1425 South Ohio.  Join women starting Monday, September 13th at either 9:00 am or 6:30 pm.  Cost is $15 for the study book.  Please call the church office at 823-6331 to register.  For more information go to SFNaz.com
